Description
The Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) is seeking a Vice Chair of Clinical Operations. This position will have the oversight responsibility related to clinical operations including the histology and immunohistology labs and gross rooms, including quality, protocol and guideline development and review, and clinical faculty recruitment. The Vice Chair of Clinical Operations will align the department clinical mission with that of the medical center ensuring high-quality care through the standardization of clinical practice, program implementation and development. Expertise and interest in CLIA Laboratory Medical Direction is preferred. Some responsibilities include:
- Develop and oversee new and existing programs. Seek and encourage operational improvements as required.
- Oversee the Divisional physician clinical schedule to make improvements and help balance workload.
- Monitor and be involved in compliance of metrics including quality, and turnaround time.
- As a member of the Executive Committee attend weekly meetings and participate in budget and strategic planning efforts.
- Oversight of clinical operations for AP, CP and Molecular Path (MP), Digital Pathology (DP) and Clinical Informatics including BEAKER
- Meet with division directors and faculty as needed to help with interpersonal conflicts and division specific challenges.
Requirements
Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
